Aldi’s Specialbuys aisle is famous for boasting an array of hidden gems, with products available from a range of different categories, including homeware, children’s toys, clothes and more. Now, Aldi has introduced a new concept to one of its stores to make shopping for Specialbuys easier for customers.

Measuring a whopping 1.6m, the trolley also has multiple key features.

Some of these include solid rubber wheels for extra control, a drop-down front panel to load heavier items more easily, and various hooks, clips, and straps.

These straps can help shoppers load items such as Aldi’s inflatable kayak onto their trolleys.

There is also a dedicated space for bottles of wine in the trolley.

DON’T MISS:

What’s more, the huge trolleys have a detachable amber flashing warning light to ensure they are visible to other shoppers.

Additionally, a phone holder is available at the front of the trolleys so customers can look at their shopping lists more easily.

The trolley’s trial has come at a perfect time as customers gear up for Christmas.

Aldi is even giving shoppers another change to get their hands on Specialbuy products this Christmas.

This is thanks to an additional Tuesday “on-sale date” throughout December.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, commented on the new trolley initiative. She said: “Since the first ever Specialbuy was sold in the UK, the unique range of products has grown in popularity and is now a phenomenon with something of a cult following.

“There are entire social media channels dedicated to discussing the next Aisle of Aldi launches.

“We always hear of people popping in for a loaf of bread and coming out with a kayak or other impromptu Specialbuy purchases – so we thought we’d design a trolley to make this kind of shopping trip even easier.”

Ms Ashfield added: “With the introduction of a Tuesday on-sale date this Christmas, it’s great that we can give our customers even more opportunities to get their hands on the latest must-haves.

“And we’re constantly on the lookout for new ways to help make shopping easier – including how Specialbuy fans purchase the items from our famous middle aisle.”

In addition to the new Tuesday on-sale date, Aldi’s Specialbuys will continue to be stocked on Thursdays and Sundays, and will revert to these two days in January.

However, customers are warned to be quick while shopping for Specialbuys as their popularity means they sell out fast.
