Steam Process Maintenance Engineer – Days Only
My client a leading Cheltenham based manufacturer require for a key operation engineering role, a Steam Process Maintenance Engineer reporting to the Maintenance Manager, accountable for managing the provision and quality of water and steam delivery systems in line with the requirements of ACOP L8 and BG01. This role will take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of a complex production water process plant consisting of Industrial steam boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, process water pumping and chemical dosing systems.
Management of water and steam process plant
Maintain steam boilers and associated steam and hot water process plant in accordance with BG01.
Identify capital improvement projects across steam and hot water plant to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
Ensure all risk assessments and method statements are up to date for any works to be carried out on water systems and Plant Rooms.
Responsible for the maintenance and standards of Water Delivery systems, Production Supply Plant Rooms, Boiler rooms etc.
Coordinate and prepare steam and hot water plant equipment for insurance inspections.
Ensure water sampling is conducted in line with legislative and production testing protocols.
Oversee and coordinate the completion of all site chlorination to maintain L8 compliance.
Manage the upkeep of the water treatment technical and design files including any design change alterations to the water system schematics.
Manage water treatment contractors and service providers through regular review meetings, ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with the contract, client requirements and budgetary controls.
Ensure the site water systems risk assessments are kept up to date.
Mechanical Installation and Maintenance
Advise on design criteria for plumbing installations on site
Carry out mechanical equipment corrective work resulting from planned maintenance and insurance inspections.
Carry out emergency mechanical repair work on steam and water process plant as required.
Manage mechanical spares for all steam and water process plant to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing water and steam process plants.
Time served mechanical engineer.
ACOP L8 certification in legionella control preferred.
BG01 Boiler operator accreditation or equivalent experience management industrial steam boilers (Essential experience)
Proven track record of managing complex water and steam process systems.
A good understanding & proven compliance of relevant H&S Regulations & procedures.
Salary dependent on experience.
