In a statement for Boris and Carrie Johnson, a spokeswoman said: “The Prime Minister and Mrs Johnson are delighted to announce the birth of a healthy baby girl at a London hospital earlier today. Both mother and daughter are doing very well. The couple would like to thank the brilliant NHS maternity team for all their care and support.”
The couple have a son, Wilfred, born on April 29, 2020.
Carrie shared the personal news that she suffered a miscarriage before becoming pregnant with their second child, saying it left her “heartbroken”.
Mrs Johnson, 33, said she was hoping for her “rainbow baby” this Christmas, admitting she was “a bag of nerves”.
But now, the couple can relax with their healthy baby girl.
