Bristol City news and transfers live: Latest from BS3 as summer window opens

Hello and welcome to Wednesday’s live blog with the summer transfer window now officially open!

Not that it really changes much as clubs have been discussing deals with players and agents since the close of last season but it could ever so slightly see the market pick-up before the inevitable flurry of transfers in July and August.

In the meantime, as Nigel Pearson identifies who he wants added to his squad for next season and plans for pre-season, two Bristol City players were in action last night in Euro 2020 warm-up matches.

Tomas Kalas completed 90 minutes in the heart of defence for the Czech Republic as they beat Albania 3-1 ahead of their tournament opener against Scotland on Monday.

In Budapest, Adam Nagy also played the full game in Hungary’s 0-0 draw with the Republic of Ireland, with their first match of Euro 2020 against Portugal on Tuesday.
