While you wait – arecommended read: heir to Marlon Pack?
At the risk of labouring on a point, Adam Nagy’s departure from Bristol City in the same week as the Severnside Derby on the weekend revisits what, with large doses of hindsight, was an extremely regrettable transfer decision.
Marlon Pack never wanted to leave City, in many ways never considered that he would; he and his family were settled in Portishead (and still are), he had started all 46 Championship games in the previous season, had signed a new three-year contract in the summer of 2018, and was an integral member of Lee Johnson’s team.
Not just in terms of what he did on the field, his reliability in availability and performance, but his presence in the dressing room and around the club. Johnson tried to create a consistent culture and Pack was one of the foremost exponents of it.
