Bristol City transfers and news live: The latest from Ashton Gate

Hello and welcome to Monday’s live blog as the torture is finally over and the 2020/21 is now firmly a memory, albeit a fresh one.

Bristol City closed the campaign as expected, with a 3-1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday; a not wholly unpredictable result but one against a play-off team which highlighted the sheer gulf in class that needs to be bridged.

Nigel Pearson has a huge job on his hands turning things around at Ashton Gate with decisions to be made on contracts (13 first-teamers are soon to be free agents) and transfers, in and out of the club.

We should receive greater clarity on the former group over the coming days and weeks, while the transfer chat is sure to increase as we moved into June and the Robins are likely to be among the busier clubs in the division.

We’ll be bringing you the fallout from the weekend, plus looking ahead to what’s in store for City so keep an eye on below for updates throughout the day
