A Bristol dessert parlour has expanded its range by launching a new burger menu.
Cowbee, which overlooks College Green, was opened in 2019 by Nicola and Adam Sztuka.
The dessert parlour, which was formerly a branch of HSBC, quickly made its name with sweet offerings such as banana and salted caramel shakes, Canadian maple waffles and chocolate and hazelnut frappes.

It also serves a vast range of ice creams made on the premises using Chew Valley milk and even honey from the couple’s own bees.
And now Cowbee has introduced a new burger menu due to customer demand.
The patties are 100 per cent pure beef, made by Buxton Butchers to Cowbee’s own recipe.
Cowbee’s owners worked with butcher Nigel Buxton to produce the 8oz burgers using cuts of aged beef.
When they cook the burgers, they season them with cracked black pepper and Himalayan rock salt and serve them in a buttermilk and sourdough bun.
Nicola Sztuka says: “We launched the new burger menu quietly last week as it’s been in the pipeline since summer and got stuck there due to all the struggles that just about everyone seems to be having at the moment.
“It’s really a response to customer feedback – they love waffles and ice cream and they love the venue so they want to be able to come to us when they want something like a burger.
“It’s a natural partner for shakes and ice cream and we have always made our own slow pulled pork and beef for the waffles so we have now put them on a burger – the result is delicious.”
Nicola says that local high-quality ingredients have been an important part of Cowbee’s success and that continues with the burgers.

“We have won 13 Great Taste and Taste of the West awards for our ice cream so the burgers had to be equally good.
“We worked with Nigel Buxton to develop our own 8oz burger which, combined with a 5-inch sourdough bun, makes for a pretty substantial burger.
“You can build your own or we’ve designed a few for you. The Seoul Burger is my favourite because it comes with our own overnight cooked Korean pulled pork.”
Other burgers on the menu include the Smokey Maple (an 8oz patty, Cheddar cheese, smokey bacon, lettuce, white onion, tomato, pickles smokey maple sauce, house mayo) and the vegan Eden Burger (vegan patty, vegan brioche bun, vegan cheese, lettuce, white onion, tomato, ketchup, American mustard, ‘facon’ jam and vegan mayo).
Cowbee is open Monday to Wednesday 11am to 8pm and Thursday to Sunday 11am to 9.30pm. The burgers are served from 12noon until close.
Cowbee is located at 24 College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TB.
