Bristol traffic: Key road blocked after crash – updates


Two key roads in Bristol have been partially blocked by crashes this morning, (Thursday, July 8).

The A37 Wells Road saw an incident just after 7am and remains narrower than usual, with traffic queuing near Highgrove Street.

Drivers on the A432 Fishponds Road are also skirting the scene of a collision that happened just before 7am.

Outside Bristol, anyone heading north on the M5 this morning should be aware that a lane is closed from junction five A38 (Droitwich/Wychbold) to junction four A (M42 interchange)

This is due to a broken-down vehicle in lane one of four.

Traffic-watch website Inrix told drivers: “A37 Wells Road partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident near Highgrove Street.

“A432 Fishponds Road partially blocked due to accident near B4469 Royate Hill. Traffic is coping well.

“One lane closed due to broken down vehicle on M5 Northbound from J5 A38 (Droitwich / Wychbold) to J4A (M42 interchange). Traffic is coping well. Lane one (of four) is closed.”
