However, new travel restrictions that came into force this week have jeopardised many holidaymakers’ plans for festive sun.

Spain, clamping down amid Omicron variant concerns, now requires all arrivals to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Updating the guidance, the UK Government update said: “The Spanish Government requires all arrivals to Spain from the UK (excluding children under the age of 12 years old) to present on entry proof of being fully vaccinated.”

However, many teenagers will not be vaccinated, as the UK has not yet rolled out mass vaccination for children.
