ABC is looking for an experienced, multi-disciplinary Building Physics Engineer to join the engineering team.

You will be degree qualified in Building Physics with Post Graduate experience delivering thermal modelling using various building design/assessment softwares.

You will be a team player with good technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical services. Your role will be to deliver thermal modelling using various building assessment software(s), produce energy consumption and management reports as well as looking at more sustainable designs.

This is a great opportunity to use your expertise in Building physics, dynamic thermal modelling, CFD, building energy performance, thermal comfort, visual comfort, daylighting, microclimate analysis and façade performance.

Assessment of existing and new buildings for performance, identify upgrade opportunities based on the assessment

1.

Assessment and evaluation of building performance, including building fabric, systems and occupants.

1.

Carry out or review Building Physics simulations for both compliance and building performance engineering.

1.

Model a range of heating, ventilation and cooling (mechanical or passive) systems on projects.

1.

Develop bespoke analysis methodologies, tools or plug ins to meet project requirements.

Analyse existing working practices and proactively suggest new ideas or more efficient ways of working.

Qualifications & Experience:

*

Education: Post graduate Degree with Experience delivering thermal modelling using various building design / assessment softwares

*

A minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Environmental Modeller / Building Physics Engineer.

Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:

*

Good understanding of Building construction processes, Building Services, Building Sciences and a passion for good architecture.

*

Qualified or aware of building performance testing method such as Thermography and air-tightness.

*

Good awareness of building standards: BREEAM, LEED and Well Standards.

*

Previous experience of softwares such as Revit, IES, Homer Grid, EnergyPro or EnergyPlus

Desirable:

*

Experience of designing zero/net zero/low carbon buildings incorporating smart/active building technologies and/or designing low carbon retrofit solutions for existing buildings
