Our client is looking to recruit enthusiastic, hardworking Business Rates NDR Officers trained in either the OpenRevenues, Northgate or Academy system, with proven skills in customer service and negotiation, to join their Revenues and Benefits team.

About You
You must have previous experience in Revenues with the ability to relay complex information clearly in relation to Business Rates verbally and in writing. Excellent ICT skills and the ability to work under pressure is required as well as previous experience of dealing effectively and courteously with members of the public, both face-to-face and by telephone.
About The Role
As Business Rates NDR Officer you will identify and process the correct liability for each property, checking and issuing appropriate bills, forms and notices. Other duties include;
* The efficient and accurate determination of all correct liabilities, valuation changes and ensuring all charges, including transitional relief, where applicable, are correct and in accordance with the appropriate regulations, legislation and guidance. Ensure all information received is correct and identify and report any cases of fraud
* Carry out all day-to-day administrative activities in relation to applying the correct reliefs, mandatory and discretionary, where appropriate. Apply all exemptions as required plus all grants where appropriate and reliefs necessary. Responding to ratepayers correspondence in a timely manner and in accordance with the set KPI’s and performance standards
* Undertake all necessary duties for the efficient collection and recovery of the Council Tax. Liaising with enforcement agencies, employers for attachments and other client Council departments where required.
* Undertaking and evidencing appropriate checks and responding to queries in accordance with the relevant legislation and requirements of the service.
* Assisting with any other duties required in the collection and administration of the Business Rates including any statutory returns when required.
