Cover Manager/Cover Supervisor – Swindon.
Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a hardworking, ambitious & experienced Cover Supervisor, Qualified Teacher or Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our supply team. We are looking to recruit an individual to work in a fantastic secondary school in the Swindon area. This role would be to manage the cover within the school when there are absences/sicknesses by ensuring lessons are all covered for the day in question. This may be by covering the lessons yourself or by arranging for a supply teacher to come in for the day. The school is open to having a strong HLTA who is confident with covering several different lessons and is looking for a change in job role. The job as Cover Manager would be in a mainstream secondary academy covering lessons and managing supply teaching staff. The school would like someone who has strong classroom management and can communicate well with both staff and students. Strong admin and organisational skills are extremely important. Our school urgently needs an individual who can work full-time. The hours are long due to having to arrange cover at 7am for absent staff members, but also needs to be available all day to assist with covering lessons until 3.30pm. Although this role would be starting on a supply basis, this role would lead to permanent position in September 2021. The successful Cover Manager must be degree qualified or have over 6 months experience working as a Cover Supervisor or HLTA. This role may also suit a qualified teacher who is looking for a role that keeps them within education, but without the pressure of planning/marking and target/KPI side of the job.
We are looking for:
A cover supervisor with over 6 months experience!
A strong HLTA with experience working in a secondary school, who is confident with covering lessons and managing a classroom.
Great behaviour management and someone who is not fazed by challenging behaviour.
Reliable, trustworthy and passionate about work with children.
Able to start work at 7am to assist with covering absences and communicating with the supply teaching agencies to arrange suitable cover.
Someone with great communication, administration and organisational skills. This would involve working in a mainstream secondary school covering a variety of different lessons with the work/lesson plans already set. This would involve classroom management and managing classroom behaviour efficiently, as well as managing teaching staff to assist with covering lessons of any absent teachers. It is a job with long hours but you do only work term time! You will be not working during any school holidays throughout the year, so this job may suit a parent!

Over 6 months experience, or certificates within education.
