Covid: WHO officials declare Omicron cases are ‘mild’ and vaccine efficacy is not reduced

Omicron cases currently stand at 22 within the UK, which will inevitably increase. However, a World Health Organisation official highlighted that there is no evidence to suggest the efficacy of vaccines will be reduced. There are around 40 different mutations of the Omicron Covid strain, with some changes indicating an increased risk of quicker transmission. Giving evidence at the Government’s science and technology committee on Wednesday, December 1 was Professor Neil Ferguson.
