A new patisserie run by a chef with a background in Michelin-starred kitchens has announced that it is opening in Bristol.
The Choux Box Patisserie was founded by Somerset-born pastry chef Orlando Partner, who has spent the past ten years working in some of the UK’s top restaurants.
Orlando says The Choux Box Patisserie aims to ‘bring quality patisserie with added sparkle and fun’ to Bristol when it launches at Cargo in Wapping Wharf.
Orlando has taken the French classic of a choux bun and ‘reinvented it’, combining classical French technique with ‘playful’ modern flavours.
The pastry chef works closely with local suppliers and everything he uses in the choux buns is from within a 20-mile radius of Bath, where he has his main production bakery.
Having started The Choux Box Patisserie in Bath, where he makes the choux buns and sells them at Alexandra Park, he is now opening in Bristol, where he previously worked at Wilsons restaurant in Redland.
“We have two locations in Bath including our production kitchen so we are excited to bring our ‘buns with personality’ to Bristol,” says Orlando.
“In The Choux Box Patisserie at Wapping Wharf you can expect to find a patisserie counter full of colourful choux buns and macarons, as well as delicious locally roasted coffee.
“Alongside our classic choux and macaroon flavours, we release a brand new weekend special every week.
“Expect limited edition flavours such as ‘The Chocolate Custard Choux-Nut’, ‘Pistachio and Chocolate Mille-Feuille Choux’ and ‘The Tirimi-Choux’.”
The Choux Box Patisserie will open Thursday to Sunday and it plans to launch at Cargo on September 17.
