Role: Digital Electronic Design Engineer (2 years+ experience is required)
Location: remote work
Salary: competitive + benefits
Remote work: the company is based in Bath and you will be required to be onsite 2x days per week initially and then more flexibility as you get settled.

They also have offices based all around the world so you can relocate to the US and Singapore if you wanted.

My client is looking to hire a Digital Electronic Design Engineer, this role is critical to the successful performance of the electronics team, so expectation is of a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an engineering design environment using the essential skillset stated.

They have a strong analog and digital team but they lack the digital skills so if you have digital design in FPGA and embedded that would be great! Alongside PCB , highspeed design skills where you can do a PCB layout to create a specification.

Daily Role:
*Your role will be to do Product design to include digital, software and some analogue design.
*Ability to support and upgrade existing products.
*Design and development of new Products as identified by Senior Management
*Creation of design documentation. Creation of requirement specifications for any outsourced manufacturing including Bill of Materials, PCB layouts, schematics, Engineering Change Notes, Assembly instructions, Component requests.

Must have skills:
*Proven track record of digital circuit design
*Good understanding of FPGA, ARM, CLPD and PIC devices.
*Good understanding of VHDL, C also AHDL
*Good understanding of serial communications protocols
*PCB design including SMD components on multi-layer boards with high speed signals
*High level of PC literacy, familiar with Linux OS

Desired skills:
*Proven track record of analogue circuit design
*Experience of analogue and digital circuit simulation
*Cadence software (schematic capture and PCB layout)
*Experience of software / firmware programming languages
*Fiber optic telemetry experience
*Experience of designing for the marine environment and knowledge of the seismic industry

Other information:

You will be working a 38 hour week and start between 8am-9am, Monday to Friday Finish between 4.30pm-5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 2.30pm Friday
