Digital Design Engineer (Mid-Level to senior applicants wanted)
£40,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)

I am working with a client based in Swindon looking to hire a Digital Design Engineer with exposure to FPGA design who for the first 6 months will be focussing on digital layout for the 1st 6 months.

Your main role will also be to implement Digital and FPGA designs for remote radio systems and complete integration activities with customer systems.

To apply you must have knowledge of schematic design, worked with FPGA, power and PCB’s and able to develop tests.

Daily Duties:

“Responsible for design, development, and unit testing of digital design products. Ensure performance meets the needs of the product (as agreed with System Engineering).
“Integrate DSP and communication features into a complete image for a digital radio FPGA design.
“Support customer deliveries and participate in customer integration and support activities.
“Coding tasks in VHDL, simulation using Modelsim and design using Xilinx tools.
“Support radio board DVT (Design Verification Testing) by creating test configurations defined by the engineering team.
“Implementation of FPGA IO interfaces, including CMOS, LVDS and high-speed serial connections to DACs, ADCs and SFPs.
“Supporting FPGA designs through system integration with hardware and system software.
“Integration of DSP and communication features into a complete image for a digital radio FGPA design.
“Planning and organizing of deliverables to meet project schedules.
“Technical report writing.
“Provision of test results and review of test results
“Define and follow appropriate development processes, design reviews, testing and problem tracking and resolution (leading to and maintaining ISO9001).
“Support with the development of test systems to ensure continued quality (including design verification, regression, factory and field upgradability testing).
“Support Production and NPI teams to ensure a high yield, fast ramping product.
“Responsible for maintenance of existing products, bug fixes, product performance enhancements and implementation of customer specific features
“Quality control as needed for the tasks above.
“Health and safety as needed for working in the lab and with soldering equipment etc.
“Using equipment and systems as needed for the tasks described above.
“Travel to various locations as required by the business
