The Trust is bringing the management of its Let Estate operations under the control of the central team and this has resulted in the exciting new role of Finance Business Partner for the Let Estate team. The role will be accountable for the residential and commercial Let Estate function across the Trust.

The post holder will bring financial and commercial expertise, perspective and pragmatism in enabling the team to achieve its strategic objectives of managing the Let Estate efficiently, effectively and flexibly, and helping the Trust to fulfil our responsibilities as a good landlord. This will involve providing objective advice, guidance, support, challenge and insight, operating as a key member of the Let Estate management team.

What you’ll be doing

In this role the you will provide financial and commercial insight to the Let Estate team in the Land and Nature directorate. You will be the senior finance professional for the team: you will be influential, bringing perspective and pragmatism to help stakeholders achieve their strategic and operational goals. As a business partner and critical friend, you will provide objective advice, guidance and support, helping the team to gain a better understanding of their business. Your expertise and vision will ensure that we’re maximising the return on investment, and that we’re always in line with our wider strategy.

You will support and challenge the team in developing credible budgets and forecasts and identifying risks and opportunities, in the immediate or longer term. You will support the team in the management of the investment pipeline, including refurbishments of buildings that are being adapted for use as holiday or long-term residential cottages, identifying funding for refurbishments with robust business cases were relevant, and ensuring that costs are monitored and reported accurately to the team.

You’ll provide input to business planning by helping the strategic leaders, cost centre managers and teams to develop credible long-term plans that will support the overall trust aim of financial sustainability.

You’ll act as the voice of finance within the team and will champion and be actively involved in change within the wider organisation.
