First look at Bristol’s new independent ice cream parlour

Lotus Biscoff ice cream sundae, Kinder Bueno milkshake and the classic 99 Flake – my sweet tooth met its match when I visited Bristol’s new ice cream parlour.

Located in the heart of Clifton Village, Whipped is a small, independent ice cream shop that fits in with the beautifully coloured buildings along the high street.

The magenta door and rose-coloured logo brings a pop of pink to Victoria Street.

Inside, it’s filled with charming accessories and Instagrammable details. Think striped paper straws, pink loyalty cards and old-fashioned squeezy sauce bottles.

When I spotted Clifton Village’s latest addition, I just had to stop for a scoop or two.

Whipped serves traditional Walls Mr. Whippy ice cream with a twist – aside from the classic 99 Flake, you can order an ice cream sundae tray loaded with your favourite chocolate bar.

From Snickers to Lotus Biscoff, Milkybar to Crunchie and Ferrero Rocher to Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Whipped is bound to have your favourite on the menu. The sundae trays are loaded with all the toppings – think sprinkles, sauce, crumbled biscuits and chocolate bars.

Best of all, you can have any of these flavours whipped into a thick, creamy milkshake.

The prices are midpoint for Clifton – with every sharing tray and milkshake priced at £5 and bottled drinks £1.

Whipped is exactly what is says on the door – the ice cream is whipped to perfection and the parlour is as classic and simple as the 99 Flake gets.

Whether you’re out for a browse around Clifton Village or a stroll along the Suspension Bridge, I would recommend stopping at Whipped for a sweet treat in the heat.

A spokesperson for Whipped gave 2Chill the scoop: “We opened up the shop in the middle of June, and it’s been consistently busy ever since.

“Us Bristolians love an ice cream on a summer’s day, and we’re in a great location near Clifton Suspension Bridge.

“Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days, especially when the sun is shining.

“Our most popular ice cream is a single cone with a flake, sprinkles and raspberry sauce – very traditional. Sometimes you just can’t go wrong with a classic.

“And our most popular ice cream tray is Lotus Biscoff. It’s drizzled in Biscoff sauce and biscuit crumbs.

“If you prefer your ice cream through a straw, I would definitely recommend trying the Kinder Bueno milkshake. It’s every chocoholic’s favourite.”

You can find Whipped on 15b Princess Victoria Street, Bristol, BS8 4BX – or just look out for the pop of pink in Clifton Village.
