Food shortages explained: How Covid and Brexit caused food and medical supplies to run low

Analysts have found the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) – which measures the direction of manufacturing trends – is looking in the wrong direction.

One of the reasons behind the British economy’s failure to recuperate is allegedly due to supply shortages.

Kieran Tompkins of Capital Economics said, “materials and staff shortages might feed into second-round effects of rising wage growth, meaning that inflation is higher for longer.”
