Fortnite Season 8 is coming out between September 12 and September 13, offering a new Battle Pass and map update.
Epic Games has not provided an exact time for when everything begins, but due to the Chapter 2 Season 7 finale kicking off on September 12, it seems a good bet that the new Battle Pass will arrive soon after.
So, for now, we would predict the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 release date to be scheduled for September 13, at around 12pm BST.
A big part of the launch will be the upcoming Operation: Sky Fire event and the new Season 8 Battle Pass, which is expected to cost around 950 V-Bucks.
Epic Games hasn’t shared any story teasers yet, but there’s a good chance that the alien invasion will end and lead to something new.
A new Fortnite event will be kicking off on September 12 and looks set to wrap up a number of loose ends from the ongoing Chapter 2 storyline.
A message from Epic Games reveals as much, telling fans: “With the Mothership’s sights set on the Imagined Order’s secret base at Corny Complex, Slone has hatched a plan to end the Invasion once and for all.
“You’ve answered her calls, worked as an undercover agent for the IO – now it’s time to infiltrate The Last Reality and put a stop to the Alien’s occupation.”
The playlist for the Fortnite season 7 live event will become available 30 minutes before the start time.
And unlike the Ariana Grande event, there won’t be multiple times you can tune in.
Once the event finishes then that’s the final time you will have been able to experience it live yourself.
Operation Sky Fire will be an interactive event, meaning gamers will have a mission to complete when they join the special servers.
Here’s what we know about the new event, with Epic Games confirming this week: “Operation: Sky Fire — Fortnite’s Chapter 2 Season 7 ending event — takes place at 4 PM ET on September 12. Join a strike team and sneak aboard the Mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading Aliens.
“The Operation: Sky Fire event playlist will be available 30 minutes prior to start for players to jump in and reserve their spot in the mission. Be sure to log in early and standby for go time. “You can join the event with a full lobby of 16 friends, so bring the whole squad and more to help you tackle Slone’s secret mission.
“For content creators and players looking to relive the moments of Operation: Sky Fire – note that replays for the event will not be available. Please take appropriate steps to record and archive your experience to share with everyone.
“And be sure to wear a suitable disguise – invading an alien spaceship should be done in style.”
Further news and teasers are expected to be shared this week as gamers gear up for the big Fortnite Season 7 finale.
