Kate Garraway has revealed what time she sets her alarm to start her Good Morning Britain presenting shift – but things didn’t quite go to plan this morning (August 19).

Kate Garraway appeared slightly bleary eyed when she explained to co-presenter Richard Bacon why her morning has been so ‘dramatic’.

The breakfast show duo said how lovely it was to see each other this morning, before Kate added and puffed her cheeks: “You almost didn’t see me this morning, I overslept dramatically – two hours.”

The former Blue Peter star quizzed her on her morning routine and asked her what time she normally wakes up.

“I love the way you get stuck into the details,” Kate replied. “2.15am I set my alarm for. I like to come in and have a cup of tea and go through everything.

“I get in the car at about 4.20am.”

Kate joked there were “a lot of nervous people this morning” but appeared her normal chipper self when the show started at 6.30am.

Many viewers wondered where Kate was yesterday morning (Wednesday, August 18) as she often presents alongside Charlotte Hawkins.

Guest presenter Richard Bacon took Kate’s place yesterday, but she has now returned to present today’s and tomorrow’s show.

On Monday, Richard will be joined by Ranvir Singh.
