Rockstar Games hasn’t done much in the way of events for GTA Online, instead focusing on large content drops and racing content.
Easter eggs are a big thing, and these can be found in both the base game and the Grand Theft Auto online multiplayer.
There have also been crossover quests between GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2, which has helped boost the coffers of players and unlock new items.
And now it appears that Rockstar could be working on something a little different for Halloween in GTA Online.
Things kicked off earlier this month after Rockstar Games shared a teaser image featuring a UFO with this caption:
“Strange sightings in GTA Online as Halloween approaches.”
It certainly makes it sound like something big is being planned in GTA Online that will involve Aliens.
We have no way of knowing the scope of what Rockstar is planning, and it’s always easy to get over-excited.
Something as simple as giving every player an Alien outfit so that they can clash again as part of either the Purple or Green clans would be a great touch.
They could also be thinking more along cosmetic lines, meaning just new stuff you can spend in-game cash on.
WHEN WILL THE GTA ONLINE UFO EVENT START?
No date or time has been shared but there’s a good chance that the GTA Online UFO event will be available to play by Thursday, October 29.
Thursdays are when Rockstar likes to drop major updates, and while October 21 seems a little early for a Halloween event to start, the following week might make more sense.
Tuesdays can also be used by Rockstar, meaning that anytime next week could be on the cards for something special to happen.
Rockstar has confirmed that some big updates and changes are being planned for GTA Online, telling fans earlier in October:
“This month’s GTA Online events will also have some special surprises — including the upcoming possibility of some unusual activity occurring in and around Southern San Andreas…
“We are also continuing to improve and evolve GTA Online. As you may have noticed, we recently began cycling select Adversary Modes and Player Jobs in and out of the game. GTA Online offers a hugely diverse array of gameplay, hosting over 1,000 Rockstar-created Jobs and tens of millions more player-created Jobs since launch.
“By beginning to cycle the Rockstar-created Jobs in and out of the game over time, not only will we be freeing up space for new missions and modes in the future, but we are also improving the game’s matchmaking by focusing the community on a more streamlined list of Jobs from week-to-week.
“And later this year, get ready to go on an exciting new adventure in GTA Online as some well-known contacts and familiar friends need your help in expanding their “legit business” — with many more surprises soon to be revealed!”
