We want to enable outstanding technology services and experience for our staff, volunteers, and supporters and as Head of IT Delivery you’ll be a big part of leading and delivering these changes. What it’s like to work here This post is based at our head office in Swindon but is currently working from home due to Covid-19 restrictions. Once the office re-opens we will return to working from the office, our properties or regional hubs but this is unlikely to exceed an average of 2 days per week. There will be an opportunity to explore and agree remote working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust.

Alternatively you can enjoy our open plan atrium space for lunch times, with our internal café available every day. What you’ll be doing Our IT delivery portfolios are aligned to business areas within the Trust and this role will manage and lead one of our IT portfolios delivering a broad range of IT services and projects to both our National Trust properties and some of our central directorates. It’s a diverse and demanding role with four key areas of focus and responsibility:
* Enterprise Data – provide senior IT leadership for our IT Data Team in the project delivery, development, and operations of our Enterprise Data platforms
* IT delivery for National Trust Properties – including our Regional IT Business Relationship Management team and the planning, management, and delivery of regional small IT Projects
* IT Project portfolio – accountability, leadership, and delivery of our IT funded project portfolio through a team of Project Managers and matrix managed delivery teams across IT
* Stakeholder management – build relationships at senior levels across various directorates at the Trust within your portfolio (People & Legal, Finance, Land and Nature, Curation and Experience, Ops & Consultancy and Strategy Management Unit) to ensure effective delivery of IT projects and services for these directorates. You will need to provide energic, supportive leadership for your cross functional delivery teams to ensure successful delivery of projects and services within your portfolio. As the IT Senior Leader accountable for this portfolio, you will manage relationships and work with key stakeholders across our properties and your business areas.

You will be accountable to our Chief Information Officer for the planning, management, and delivery of our IT funded projects. You will need to collaborate with other members of our Senior Leadership Team on appropriate technology approaches and ensure effective coordination of matrix managed delivery teams for successful delivery of projects across many of our core infrastructure platforms. A sound technical delivery background along with knowledge and experience of delivering Enterprise Data platforms is essential.

As an active and engaged member of our Senior Leadership Team you will help lead, shape and manage the strategic direction of our IT department, ensuring our teams feel supported and that we continually improve and transform the delivery of our IT Services for the organisation. * Technology background – knowledge of IT platforms and services, specifically, sound experience of Enterprise Data Platforms
* Leadership – supportive and inspiring leadership skills with the ability to inspire and coordinate diverse teams fulfilling multiple concurrent demands to time, cost, and quality.
* Team Player – enthusiastic team player to join our Senior IT Leadership Team
* Strategic thinker – can exploit opportunities to align to our strategies. Creates a vision for own area, supported by plans, roles, and objectives.
