With millions of people across the country planning parties, BBQ’s and get-togethers to watch the Euro 2020 Final on Sunday, Asda is offering shoppers great deals to help them celebrate at home.

“Colleagues who want to substitute a shift are able to organise this with their team and extra bangers, burgers and booze are being delivered to stores in anticipation for a sales surge.

“We’re prepared, the England boys are prepared, hopefully our customers are prepared – it’s coming home!”

For customers heading to the fresh pizza counter in Asda’s Bedminster store, customers may notice the pizzas have unusual football-inspired words on them.

In a tribute to the England team, the pizza team have spelt out the words ‘It’s coming home’ as well as a design of Harry Kane’s football shirt.

The tweet picked up more than 18,000 likes with customers excited for the game.

Deputy store manager Jason Mansell says colleagues are impressed and delighted to see them proving such a hit.

He said: “They’re amazing, and customers are coming in and asking to buy these individual pizza designs.

“The guys on the pizza counter asked how they could show their support for England, and came up with the idea of spelling out ‘It’s Coming Home’, making pepperoni pizzas in the shape of the St George’s flag.

“The feedback has been fantastic.”

Other customers were left asking on Twitter if this could be rolled out to all stores in celebration of the final.

Asda also has a huge range of BBQ food on offer as well as soft and alcoholic beverages.

In other news, the supermarket giant launched a one-hour delivery service for customers who need to get their groceries in a hurry.

All speedy deliveries come with a flat delivery rate of £8.50.

Asda Vice President of Online Grocery Simon Gregg said: “After successfully trialling an Express Delivery service, we know this is something that our customers want as part of our online grocery proposition and we are delighted to be able to offer this service to even more customers.

“The launch of our new Express Delivery service and extension of our existing partnership with Uber Eats to 300 stores means that customers can get their order delivered to the doorstep at market-leading pace.”
