A crash on the M32 near Bristol that claimed the life of a woman has led to an appeal for more information.
Police have issued an update after a woman was arrested at the scene of the crash, which happened in the early hours of Monday morning (August 30).
At the time the woman driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
Police have confirmed that the arrested woman has been released under further investigation.
On Monday, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that a woman died after a car crashed off the road and into undergrowth on the M32 southbound between junction one (Hambrook) and junction two (Eastville) at about 2am.
An updated statement from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “The arrested woman has been released under investigation.
“The deceased has not yet been formally identified.
“Officers are grateful to the witnesses who have been in touch but would still like to hear from anyone who may be able to help the investigation.
“If you have any information which could help call 101 quoting reference 5221200131.”
The woman who died has not been named but her next of kin has been told.
The southbound carriageway was closed for around ten hours to enable emergency services to work at the scene.
