M5, M4 and A303 traffic: Holiday getaway causes hour-long delays and queuing traffic

Motorists could face up to an hour of delays on the M5 current as people continue the holiday getaway.

Travel time between Gloucestershire and Bristol on the M5 currently has long delays of an hour and 10 minutes with crawling traffic.

According to traffic site Inrix: “Long delays and queueing traffic due to holiday traffic on M5 Southbound between J14 (Thornbury / Falfield) and J20 (Clevedon).

“Travel time is around 1 hour and 10 minutes. A very large patch of congestion between J14 and 15 with more delays building around J18 and J20 as people head to the coastal towns.”

There is also slow traffic on the A303 in Wiltshire, particularly near Stonehenge with cars moving slowly in both directions.
