A crash on the M5 is causing delays this afternoon.

The crash was first reported just before 12pm today (Sunday, August 22) on the northbound carriageway between Burnham-on-sea and Weston-super-Mare.

The motorway and key A roads in the region are busy today as people enjoy summer holidays in the South West.

Inrix, the travel monitoring site, reports: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M5 Northbound from J22 (Burnham-on-sea) to J21 A370 (Weston-super-mare).

“Lane three (of three) is closed. this is separate to the lane one closure.”

There was another crash involving two cars and a DPD lorry and a lane closure remains in place.
