M62 closed for ‘hours’ after police officer seriously injured in ‘high speed chase’

The accident happened between Junction 34 Selby and Junction 35, where the busy road merges into the M18.  YorkshireLive is reporting that the police vehicle involved in the pursuit has collided with a motorway bridge.

The fire service, ambulance and police are all at the scene, while one eyewitness said he had heard the air ambulance arriving just after midnight.
