Most expensive royal wedding dress cost £6million – pricier than Princess Diana and Kate’s

Queen Letizia tied the knot in 2004 with the future King Felipe, and her £6million show-stopping wedding dress remains the most expensive royal wedding dress, 17 years later. It was designed by royal couturier Manuel Pertegaz. The dress featured a four and a half metre-long train, long sleeves, a high-standing collar and embroidery woven into the silk using gold thread.

Despite the rain, Queen Letizia looked beautiful in her £6million wedding gown.

One of the reasons the dress was so expensive was because the embroidery using gold thread.

Kate Middleton’s dress for her wedding to Prince William in 2011, on the other hand, cost £250,000.

It was made in collaboration with Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.
