The gold medalist defended her title at the women’s C4-5 road race.

She has been unbeaten since London 2012.

Following her success today, she knocked the previous record holder, Mike Kenny, from first place by one gold medal.

While the Paralympian swimmer is second to Sarah by just one gold medal, the total medal count tells a different story.

With 18 medals in total, Mike is an entire 10 medals behind Sarah.

Sarah, 43, expressed her shock after the race.

“I’m a bit overwhelmed, I feels like it’s happening to someone else,” she told Channel 4.

“I can’t really explain or compute anything about the race, but crossing the line first felt so good.”

This historic gold is her third at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

This year, she is competing at her eighth games since her first Paralympics at Barcelona 1992.

In total, the Paralympian has 28 medals. She has not won anything but gold medals since her first cycling Paralympics at Beijing 2008.
