Due to an uptake in projects across the country, they are currently seeking an enthusiastic, positive and confident Senior/Principal Flood and Coastal Risk Management Specialist in South West England.
They are seeking a self-motivated individual to provide technical leadership of projects, mentor junior team members and produce high quality technical deliverables for the range of complex flood risk projects that they deliver for the Environment Agency, Local Authority and private clients.
The role will initially involve a 12-month secondment working from home for a strategic client helping to deliver flood risk schemes as a Senior Flood Risk Manager. This role will involve the development of business cases, securing of funding and management of project delivery. Experience in these aspects of flood risk management would be advantageous.
You will be responsible for working closely with the existing client flood risk team, but also be supported by their flood team which includes a range of hydraulic modellers, civil engineers and flood risk specialists working at different levels. Post secondment, you will be responsible for delivery of multi-disciplinary flood risk projects for the client in both England and Wales and for a range of clients.
As well project delivery you would be working alongside their business development team to prepare proposals and bids. You will also take a leading role in identify training and professional development needs of junior staff and in conjunction with our resource managers identify additional resource requirements to help grow our team.
What you will do:
Manage the delivery of flood risk projects under the NEC form of contract;
Manage all aspects of project delivery including the contractual, financial and resource management;
Represent the client as their appointed Senior Project Manager, liaising with a range of project stakeholders and the public;
Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues and work co-operatively across functions and business units to share information and ideas;
Work closely with other senior staff to enable delivery of the wider teams workload
Your experience will include:
Bachelor level qualification and Chartered / near Chartered member of a recognised professional body
Experience of working with the Environment Agency, developers or Local Authorities in the context of flood risk management
Extensive technical skill in their nominated technical specialism (including associated software packages)
Experience managing the technical delivery of projects/packages of work
Previous experience undertaking quality assurance reviews and audits of technical works undertaken by others.
A full UK drivers licence required for this role as you will be required to go to visit local clients offices in due course
