About the role
Our client is now recruiting for a Senior Systems and Security Engineer on a 12 Month FTC basis.
Working alongside the ICT Infrastructure Manager, you will lead on data communications, telecommunications, business critical infrastructure and cyber security technical implementations. You will provide network and technical infrastructure management for the organisation and ensure data is secured through disaster recovery capabilities and backup integrity, as well as software upgrades and security patching.
You would be the lead technical authority internally and externally, giving specialist consultancy to the business, and designing technical solutions across all teams and areas that maintain the reliability and performance of the end-to-end technical infrastructure.
You will be responsible for capacity planning and aligning ICT infrastructure provision based on business growth demands and plans; and you will act as technical lead on complex challenges and projects, creatively designing technical solutions to overcome these challenges in line with their policy and best practices.
You will deputise and assist the ICT Infrastructure Manager in managing and developing infrastructure comprising Microsoft, Citrix and VMware technologies both on-premise and in Azure cloud, in line with the ICT Strategy and corporate objectives.
About you
It is essential that you have Project Management experience and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer qualification or equivalent experience.
You must have significant relevant IT experience working with networks and network infrastructure in a senior technical role. Knowledge of IT best practice and legislation concerning the utilisation of information systems and technology is also required for this role.
You will be required to work to tight deadlines and organise your assigned workload dynamically based on emerging deadlines and day to day priorities. You will need to juggle competing demands on your time and exercise solid stakeholder management competencies when the workload is reshuffled.
It is essential that you have the ability to write reports in SQL, MS Reporting services and MS Power BI as needed for the purposes of the role.
