Witherslack Group are opening a brand new children’s home in a rural location near Westbury. The home will accommodate up to five young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. All of the young people will attend our own on-site Learning Centre. We are the UK’s number 1 children’s home provider, as judged by Ofsted (our sector regulator).
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced support worker to join our team. It’s your chance to make a huge difference to our young people’s lives by providing personalised care and creating a calm, safe living environment. You’ll plan social and leisure programs, give counselling and escort children on activities. As Senior Residential support Worker, you’ll also assist your team leaders and deputy manager with planning and leading shifts, maintaining up to date and comprehensive records and supporting the staff team.
Having worked with young people in a residential setting before, you’ll already have what it takes. You have the resilience to deal with challenging behaviour and good communication skills. You will also have the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). In the meantime, we’ll give you outstanding training to help you do your best. In return, you’ll need to be happy to work flexible hours, including some sleep-in duties and to have a full UK driving licence.
