Salary – C£25K


We are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Buyer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the role to join our client’s international manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering optimal costs and stock holding alongside outstanding supplier performance and availability. Day to day management of most of the supplier base. Initially, this role is also key to developing a proposal through to launch of a forecasting model. The model would be managed by this individual.

Reporting to the Category Manager, this is a key role in a new and exciting departmental structure that has been introduced to implement a truly insight led range proposition. This structure will mean we can effectively drive range development, growing sales and margin. Which we can then in-turn leverage improved costs and service from our supplier base. The impact on internal efficiency will also be transformational.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key to defining and driving several key strategic pieces of work including supplier commercials and performance.
Placement of all key supplier POs.
Overall accountability for PO management.
Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
New supplier sourcing for greater liquidity.
Delivering rebate targets – Monitoring and forecasting.
Conducting annual supplier audit cycle.
Overall accountability for supplier information in references tab in WM.
Ensuring optimal stock value – Maximise commercial benefit of MOQs and MOVs.
Using commodities information to better inform our purchasing decisions and negotiations.
Develop and maintain a full secondary supplier database.
Introduce and manage supplier OTIF data and metric reporting.
Develop a proposal for a forecasting tool.
Wastepack submission with PM.
Service class calculations.
Skills and Attributes


Analytical with excellent IT skills.
Good problem solver with an eye for detail.
Experience in a Buying/Supply chain role.
Team player who can collaborate effectively and work across multiple departments.
Experienced in managing conflicting priorities effectively.
Strong, confident communicator.
Strong decision maker & ability to use own initiative.

Experience in a manufacturing environment
CIPS qualified
