Our client is keen to recruit an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their busy team in Swindon
The applicant will need to be fit and able to deal with all manual aspects of the role. In addition, the successful candidate will need good written and verbal command of English, possess good numerative skills and be fully conversant with computer-based IT systems. A proactive person, well organised, methodical with an eye for detail, a good work ethic and excellent time keeping are critical requirements. A full clean driving licence is also required to facilitate local deliveries.
As part of a small team the role will be principally based around the warehouse function of the company. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor the role will encapsulate all aspects of the warehouse administration covering the following key areas as follows:
Goods in – Receiving deliveries from suppliers, assisting in unloading where necessary, breakdown of pallet and multiple shipments to clearly differentiate products to allow accurate identification of each product, batch numbers and relevant expiry dates. Completing booking in process for each product onto Sage based software package, entering relevant details to accurately reflect goods received, pack, colour and batch details, producing goods received note (GRN) for filing record.
Stock management – Placing all goods received into warehouse stock into specific pre-determined stock locations as detailed on Sage software product records. Ensuring all stock is placed in “first in, first out” basis with oldest material stock rotated to front for subsequent picking. Effectively manage all stock locations ensuring stock is kept tidy, differentiated and easily identifiable and levels accurately reflect system levels correcting discrepancies where identified.
Goods out – Accurately picking required stock from designated locations identified from Sage software product records for sales orders passed down from the sales office for onward despatch to customers. Pack products for onward shipment via parcel carrier or palletised shipment to minimise damage in-transit. Pass paperwork to inspector for final despatch check and insertion of batch numbers on paperwork. Placing despatch notes and relevant freight forwarder paperwork for final despatch of goods. Assisting in loading where necessary.
In addition to the main responsibilities above the candidate will be required to undertake administrative duties including (but not exclusively) covering the following areas:
Stock Management – Liaison with purchasing to identify stock shortfalls to ensure sufficient replenishment stock is accounted for.
Admin duties – General administrative duties as and when required by management to assist in the effective running of the organisation.
This position is temporary initially with the potential of a permanent role. The hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am-4pm on Friday.
