BT and Virgin Media have another rival to contend with as Three Mobile has just dropped its broadband offering to its ‘best ever’ price. Three is famed for its smartphone and mobile contracts but the company also gives customers the chance to get the web beamed into their homes and this new deal makes its service ludicrously cheap.
Right now, Three Mobile is giving its customers the chance to get broadband for just £14.99 per month. That’s considerably cheaper than BT or Virgin Media. For example, Virgin’s broadband-only deals start from £38 per month with BT wanting at least £26 from your bank account each month.
So, with prices that are that cheap, you might be wondering what’s the catch? Well. the only thing you need to be aware of is that Three supplies the web to homes via its mobile signal and not through a fixed-line cable.
That means it’s worth checking to see how good the Three network is on your street before signing on the dotted line.
If things are up to scratch you can expect to see typical downloads of between 50-100Mbps on Three’s cheapest £14.99 plan.
If you want something faster then the firm also has its new 5G hub on offer for just £22 per month. This box of tricks has the ability to connect to the web at speeds in excess of 500Mbps.
At that rapid rate, you could expect to see a blockbuster movie downloaded to your TV in around a minute.
Along with those fast speeds, Three says it’s not currently charging a set-up fee and there’s also the option to try out this tech first and send everything back if it’s not for you.

Three Mobile isn’t the only firm that is offering incentives for anyone making the switch to its broadband.
Vodafone has also announced that it is offering much cheaper prices to anyone happy to leave their current ISP. In fact, Vodafone is undercutting rivals such as BT and Virgin by as much as £500 depending on what speeds customers opt for. Prices for Vodafone’s new “Switch and Save” plans start from just £19.50 – that’s for its slowest 35Mbps speeds.
If you want something faster then you can opt for 500Mbps for £35 per month or 900Mbps for £60.
Finally, UK firm Hyperoptic is giving customers the chance to grab a hefty discount.
Anyone with this service in their street can get 50Mbps speeds for just £15 per month or 500Mbps for £30.
There’s also a ludicrously fast 1Gbps option for £35 per month which allows users to download a full HD movie in just 40 seconds.
